Go Green and Stuff

Welcome to GoGreenAndStuff.com, an   eclectic marketplace of stylish and useful goods from around the world. Our mission is simple: travel the   globe in search of unique goods and give something back to local communities. Products are sourced in an ethical   manner and purchased at prices that enable local business people to make a   fair wage. Additionally, 10% of profits are donated to local charities in our   products countries of origin. Items are from local artisans and   made from natural or recycled materials whenever possible. It all started two years ago with   a serendipitous trip to Thailand by our founder Mark.

Mark's story

I’m Mark Maniscalco, founder of GoGreenAndStuff.com. In Spring of 2008, I found myself in Phuket recuperating after a long and difficult work period. I spent 10 days on the beach relaxing, not doing much except enjoying the wonderful food and hospitality of Thailand. Ten days was not nearly enough time but I left refreshed, bringing back some locally-made items as presents for the female staff in my hair salon, Mark of Excellence, in Hermosa Beach including handbags and sarongs. I offered these to my associates saying you may have one or the other, a handbag or sarong. After the dust settled, not a handbag was left and an idea was borne. To create a business that imports unique, fashionable, and mostly green items from around the world. One of the circumstances I noticed was the great need in the local community, and I decided to give something back out of any profit created by locally-made goods. Our intention is to give 10% of the profit from any product sales that we acquire to local charities. In Thailand, our chosen charity is the Rajvithi Home for Girls, an orphanage that feeds, houses, educates, and provides job training and placement services to young women. As we travel around the world and find interesting and green products in other countries, we will continue to donate 10% of profit acquired from product sales to local source countries. We strive to find interesting, fun, stylish, and ecologically-friendly products and hope that you like them as much as we do.
